Dolphin Grey is a color that’s very nearly as old as the 911 itself, dating back to 1964 when it was introduced for the Porsche 356C. How does Dolphin Grey compare with the legendary Fashion Grey and the contemporary ‘on the menu’ light grey called Chalk? It’s significantly lighter than either while also being “cooler” (less red/brown hues). Dolphin Grey has been worn by some 911s post production, with a notable 997.2 GT3 RS being a relatively recent example. Initially, Dolphin Grey was not available paint to sample for the 991 generation 911 but this changed later on in production.
