Gemini Metallic (335/geminimetallic) is a Porsche color that goes back to the early 70s. Offered for only a few years before it was discontinued, Gemini Metallic shared the menu with PTS giants such as Green Yellow, Gulf Blue, Signal Orange, Jade Green, and Mexico Blue to name just a few. Over time, Gemini Metallic evolved. As the story goes, during this period, Porsche was working on refining some of its metallic colors including Gemini Metallic. This meant that not only did the formula for Gemini Metallic change, but so too did the paint code. The current 335 Gemini Metallic was in use by the 1974 model year, although some Porsches painted prior to that model year also wear the paint. The update brought with it changes in the color’s ‘metallic’ properties including reflectivity and depth.Interestingly, Gemini Metallic was actually used (non-PTS) on a limited 991 generation 911 in Italy. The 911 was the Targa 4S 30° Anniversario Coupé, which celebrated 30 years of Porsche in Italy. These 911s would wear Gemini in honor of the color of the first 911 delivered in Italy
