Acid Green is among the most recent Porsche “green/yellow” colors and is said to come from the color of the calipers fitted to Porsche’s hybrid models. But how did Acid Green end up being available Paint to Sample? Paint to Sample program expert Eduardo over on Rennlist may have been the first to publicly report on the details of this color. Apparently it first appeared on the PTS lists back around 2014, with no approval or testing for any of Porsche’s platforms. This is a bit odd because typically colors will have at least been submitted for feasibility testing when they show up on the list. Regardless, Acid Green disappeared only to then be reportedly ordered for a 918 Spyder. Fast forward some years later and we would learn more: Acid Green was indeed requested and approved for the 918 and it would eventually be approved for the 911 as well. Fast forward again and by the time the paint to sample window opened for the 991.2 generation 911s, Acid Green would be available.
