Golf Blue appears to have been made available for the 991 generation 911 in around 2015. Shortly after its approval, Golf Blue was officially renamed to Golf Blue (VW). This renaming was ostensibly done to identify PTS Golf Blue as a VW color as opposed to the Porsche color of the same name. Golf Blue (VW) highlights the importance of paying attention to the details when ordering a Porsche: it is said that this color was once mixed up with the similarly named Gulf Blue on an actual paint to sample order, leading to the arrival of a car the owner did not expect(!)
