Irish Green (Y79/irishgrün) is a vintage Porsche color. It goes back to the 356-C and the start of series 911 production and sales back in 1964. As a favorite color of Ferry Porsche, it is said that he had one of the company’s first series 911s (chassis no 300.003) painted in Irish Green. Not long after, Irish Green was added to the official menu for the 911 with paint number 6406. This was the start of many years of Porsche usage of the color and why, when Porsche built its millionth 911, Irish Green was the color chosen.
