Brewster Green is a Porsche family favorite. It was used on the rare 60th Club Coupe, a 991 generation 911 that was based around the Carrera S and built to commemorate 60 years of Porsche Owners Clubs worldwide. But what you may not know is that Brewster Green has a very long history in the greater automotive world. In fact, “Brewster Green” may have the longest history of any color we’ve looked at to date. This is a color that goes back to 1909 and some of the earliest Ford Model Ts produced, making it 110 years old (!) While much has been said about the colors that Ford offered, or did not offer, on the Model T, Ford has offered a defense. They claimed that standardizing the offering with Brewster Green allowed people who bought Model Ts to more easily have different bodies, as it eliminated the need to change the fenders and lower portions of the car due to body changes. Regardless, imagine what someone from those days would have thought of the 911s we have today!
